How to Pay American Express Credit Card Bills

American Express credit card bill payments can be made using various online and offline methods. Some of the common online methods include NEFT, UPI, and Bill Desk, and cardholders also have the option to set standing instructions for automatic payments. For those who prefer offline payments, cheques or drafts can be written and sent to American Express via courier or dropped off at the nearest drop box. Here are the details on how to pay your American Express credit card bill.

American Express Credit Card Payment - Online

There are multiple ways to pay your American Express credit card bills online. Below are some popular online payment methods:

NEFT:

1. Add American Express Credit Card as a payee in your bank account.
2. Use the following details for registration:
   • Payee Name: American Express
   • Payee Account Number: Complete 15-digit card number (beginning with 37)
   • Bank Name: Standard Chartered Bank
   • IFSC Code: SCBL0036020
3. Once added, select the payee and enter the payment amount, then authorize the transfer using OTP. Payments made via NEFT will be credited within 24 hours.

UPI:

1. Login to your UPI-enabled mobile banking app.
2. Go to fund transfer and select the VPA option.
3. Enter the VPA format as AEBC<15-digit card number>@SC (e.g., AEBC371234567890123@SC).
4. Enter the amount and authorize the payment using your UPI PIN. If initiated before 5 pm, the payment will be credited by the next day.

Bill Desk: Pay via Billdesk – American Express CardNet by entering your card number, mobile number, and email ID. You will be redirected to your bank’s internet banking portal to authorize the transaction.

Other Options: American Express also accepts payments through:

• Debit card powered by RuPay
• BHIM-UPI
• UPI QR Code or BHIM UPI QR Code

Auto Pay: You can set standing instructions to automatically pay your American Express Credit Card dues each month. This can be done either online or offline:

• Online: Submit an enrollment form and expect activation in 5 business days.
• Offline: Fill out a paper-based form, with enrollment completed in 3-4 weeks.

These methods are processed within 1-2 business days, depending on the bank and payment method used.

American Express Credit Card Payment - Offline

American Express Credit Card users can also pay their bills offline using two methods:

Drop Boxes:

1. Make a cheque or draft as described above and drop it in an American Express drop box.
2. Look for Amex stickers on the Standard Chartered Bank drop boxes before dropping the payment.
3. Locate the nearest drop box on the American Express website.
4. Never drop cash payments in the drop box.

Courier:

1. Write a cheque or draft payable to “AEBC Card No. <15-digit card number starting with 37>.”
2. Send the cheque/draft to the following address:
   • American Express Banking Corp., Cyber City, Tower ‘C’, DLF Building No. 8, Sector 25, DLF City Phase II, Gurgaon-122002, Haryana.
3. The payment will be credited to your account once the cheque/draft is cleared.

These methods allow you to pay offline and ensure that your payment is credited once processed.
