AU Bank Revises Credit Card Terms – Transportation Rewards Removed, Lounge Spend Criteria Increased

AU Bank has announced new updates to its credit card terms and conditions. The changes will come into effect from 10 April 2026 and will impact reward points on transportation transactions as well as the spending requirement for domestic airport lounge access.

While the removal of reward points on transportation transactions may not affect all users, the increase in the spending requirement for lounge access could make it slightly harder for some cardholders to use this benefit.

No Reward Points on Transportation Transactions

From 10 April 2026, AU Bank credit cards will no longer earn reward points on transportation transactions. These transactions are identified using specific merchant category codes (MCCs).

The following MCC codes will no longer earn reward points:

  • 4011
  • 4111
  • 4112
  • 4121
  • 4131
  • 4411
  • 4582
  • 4784
  • 4789
  • 5561
  • 7523

These codes generally include transportation-related spends such as railways, taxis, buses, and other travel services.

Domestic Airport Lounge Access Spend Requirement Increased

AU Bank has also increased the spending requirement for domestic airport lounge access on its credit cards.

Currently, cardholders need to spend ₹20,000 per calendar quarter to remain eligible for complimentary domestic lounge access. Starting 10 April 2026, this requirement will increase to ₹50,000 per calendar quarter.

Current Spend Requirement New Spend Requirement (From 10 April 2026)

₹20,000 per calendar quarter

₹50,000 per calendar quarter

This change means cardholders will need to spend more on their AU Bank credit cards every quarter to continue enjoying lounge access benefits.

Bottom Line

AU Bank has introduced two key changes to its credit card terms effective 10 April 2026. Reward points will no longer be earned on transportation transactions, and the spending requirement for domestic airport lounge access will increase from ₹20,000 to ₹50,000 per quarter.

While the transportation reward removal may not have a major impact for many users, the higher lounge access spend requirement could affect cardholders who use this benefit frequently.
