Kotak and HDFC IndiGo Six E Rewards Co-Branded Credit Cards Discontinued

With the launch of IndiGo’s new BluChip loyalty program, it was only a matter of time before the older Six E Rewards program was phased out. The transition was already hinted at when IndiGo announced the migration plan in mid twenty-twenty-five and Kotak Mahindra Bank introduced its new IndiGo co-branded credit cards.

While the discontinuation of Kotak’s Six E cards was largely expected, there was still uncertainty around the future of HDFC Bank’s IndiGo Six E Rewards Credit Cards. That uncertainty has now been resolved.

Both Kotak Mahindra Bank and HDFC Bank have officially announced the discontinuation of their IndiGo Six E Rewards co-branded credit cards.

HDFC Bank Discontinues IndiGo Co-Branded Credit Cards

HDFC Bank has confirmed that it is no longer accepting new applications for the following cards:

  • HDFC Bank IndiGo Six E Rewards Credit Card
  • HDFC Bank IndiGo Six E Rewards XL Credit Card

According to the bank’s official communication, existing cardholders can continue to enjoy the benefits of their cards until a replacement card is issued. The migration process is currently underway, and customers will receive SMS and email updates directly from HDFC Bank.

From November twenty-twenty-five onwards, the HDFC IndiGo Six E Rewards Credit Cards will be completely discontinued.

Any unused Six E Rewards balance held by cardholders will be automatically transferred to the new IndiGo BluChip program at a one-to-one ratio, ensuring no loss of reward value.

Kotak IndiGo Six E Rewards Credit Cards Discontinued

Kotak Mahindra Bank has also informed customers that its IndiGo Six E Rewards Credit Cards will be discontinued from late September twenty-twenty-five.

Kotak has offered existing cardholders the option to upgrade to the newly launched Kotak IndiGo Credit Cards. While these new cards come with updated reward structures aligned with the BluChip program, they remain strictly co-branded airline cards.

For users who prefer flexibility and broader redemption options, upgrading may not be the best move. Dedicated travel or air-miles credit cards often provide better long-term value compared to airline-specific cards.

What Happens to Existing Reward Points

Cardholders of both HDFC and Kotak IndiGo Six E Rewards Credit Cards do not need to worry about losing their accumulated points.

  • All unused Six E Rewards will be transferred to IndiGo BluChips
  • The conversion will happen automatically
  • The transfer ratio is one-to-one
  • No action is required from cardholders

Bottom Line

The discontinuation of Kotak and HDFC IndiGo Six E Rewards Credit Cards marks the end of an era for IndiGo’s older loyalty ecosystem. While Kotak users have the option to upgrade to newer IndiGo co-branded cards, HDFC cardholders currently do not have a direct IndiGo replacement card available.

With frequent launches, silent devaluations, and discontinuations, India’s airline and credit card ecosystem is evolving rapidly. Cardholders should carefully evaluate whether airline co-branded cards still make sense or if flexible travel credit cards offer better long-term value.
